ABOUT US

What we do:  RSVP of Hampshire & Franklin Counties mobilizes older adults to meet compelling community needs by recruiting, placing and supporting volunteers in a diverse array of service opportunities at local nonprofit and public agencies.  We match people with experience and skills to offer with organizations that need their help.

Real results: In 2010, 717 adults age 55+ contributed 125,344 hours of volunteer service at 60 non profit organizations and public agencies in Hampshire and Franklin Counties.  This represents a donation of over 3.2 million dollars to our communities.

A national program: RSVP is part of the Senior Corps, a national service program for older adults.  There are 741 RSVP programs across the country, with 428,500 volunteers engaged in service.

Funding: RSVP of Hampshire & Franklin Counties is funded primarily with a federal grant from the Corporation for National & Community Service, along with generous in-kind and monetary donations from many area organizations, businesses, and individuals, including our host agency, the Hampshire Council of Governments.  For more information on how you or your organization can help support the work of RSVP, please call us at (413) 584-1300 x8.

Meeting community needs: RSVP volunteers serve at hospitals, nursing homes, schools, libraries, after school programs, survival centers, thrift stores, senior centers, community centers, and more.  The ways in which RSVP volunteers serve include tutoring, counseling, environmental restoration, health education, nutrition programs, and non-profit administration and governance.
