Wellness Initiative

Hampshire County Group Insurance Trust (HCGIT) launched its worksite wellness program, The Wellness Initiative, in 2008 to help HCGIT subscribers and their families live healthier lives. Our unhealthy behaviors contribute to over 25% of healthcare costs. Some of this can easily be changed by eating healthier, getting more exercise, quitting smoking, learning how to manage stress and having appropriate medical screenings.

Wellable is the new fitness and nutrition tracking platform which will be launched on April 1, 2016.  Subscribers of the Hampshire County Group Insurance Trust will be able to participate in the Spring and Fall Challenges utilizing this state of the art platform.  Wellable is compatible with wearables (Jawbone, Fit Bit and Garmin) and over 30 apps on an iPhone and Android.  Wellable can also be used on a desk top, laptop and tablet.  Read more about Wellable here

If you are a subscriber of Blue Cross Blue Shield through The  Hampshire County Group Insurance Trust and would like to participate in the Wellness Challenges or simply use Wellable individually and on your own schedule, please contact the Wellness Initiative Director, Michele at 413-584-1300 x 173 or mkomosa@hampshirecog.org for more information.

Launching April 1, 2017

A Healthy Me is a wellness incentive program that begins on April 1st and will end on December 31st.   This campaign will allow subscribers to take their culture of health to the next level. Participants can earn up to 100 points for taking part in wellness activities. These activities include; a well visit, online workshops, taking a health assessment, completing a needs and interest survey, completion of a pre diabetes survey and participating in spring and fall wellness challenges. A subscriber need not do all the above, simply a combination of activities to reach 100 points.  Each activity has a point value. When 100 points are achieved, a $100 gift card is awarded. *Disclaimer; this campaign is currently open only to the first 200 primary subscribers and gift cards will be awarded at the end of the campaign.

If you are a primary subscriber and wish to participate in this campaign, you must create an account. Create your account here.  You will need your Blue Cross Blue Shield subscriber number to create your account.
