Hampshire Care, a skilled nursing and rehabilitation
facility, provides the best quality of care in Hampshire County. Federal
and State inspection scores have consistently been the highest of any
in the county for many years. Hampshire Care is nestled in 106 wooded
acres in Leeds, a village at the Williamsburg border of Northampton,
MA..
For admission information contact Richard Ollari
at 413-584-8457, ext. 111.
The facility provides both short-term and long-term
nursing services. For people who have been dismissed from the hospital,
but who need further care before returning home, Hampshire Care provides
post-hospital treatment: physical thereapy, occupational therapy, speech
therapy, hospice services, respite services, specialized dietary treatments,
skilled nursing services, case management, and case management for help
in planning to return home.
Hampshire Care also provides long-term nursing services
for those with disabilities that prevent them from returning home after
hospitalization or from remaining in their home due to their illness.
Hampshire Care also boasts an exemplary staff which
is unique in being of exceptionally long employment, on average. As
an example, the average length of employment of the licensed nurses
is well over 10 years. Some nurses have been caring for patients here
for twenty, even thirty years. Employees receive competitive salaries
and outstanding benefits. Included within these benefits are excellent
health insurance, government pensions, and generous holiday, vacation,
and sick time benefits. For some, the most important benefit is going
home at the end of the day knowing they have been part of a place that
puts patient care first. Hampshire Care is currently recruiting RNs,
LPNs, and CNAs. Not only does Hampshire Care offer competitive wages
and excellent benefits, its high staffing ratios allow the nursing staff
to perform the high quality patient care that gives professional satisfaction.
Hampshire Care is in excellent financial condition with
a modest surplus, no debt and no outstanding accounts payable. The Hampshire
Council of Governments' elected Councilors provide oversight on behalf
of the public. The Hampshire Council of Governments, formerly Hampshire
County, has owned and operated the facility since 1914. Currently plans
are being made to upgrade the infrastructure (water, sewer, roads) as
a prelude to improving the facility.
